What is 2FA?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an additional way of verifying that it's really you who is trying to login. It combines something you know (your user name and password) with something you have (an authentication app on your smartphone or tablet). This second layer of security is designed to prevent anyone but you from accessing your account even if they come to know your password.

Logging in to DG AutoCheck
- If 2FA is enforced for your subscription, you will be asked to setup 2FA as part of the login process
- If not, go to your user profile page, Two-Factor Auth (2FA) section, and click "Setup 2FA"
- The setup screen with instructions will now be visible to you
Note: You can only have one device setup at a time on your account.
Troubleshooting 2FA Setup
You've changed the device you use to authenticate
Find out what you need to do to use 2FA on a new device.
QR code doesn't work
If the QR code isn't accepted, or you can't click Continue or Enter code after scanning the QR code, try one of these fixes:
- Make sure you're scanning the QR code from within your authenticator app, not just using your phone's camera.
- Try re-scanning the QR code.
- Enter a setup key instead.
- Check you've got internet access.
- Start the set-up process again.
Confirmation code isn't accepted
If DG AutoCheck doesn't accept the confirmation code you've entered, it may be because too much time has passed since you started setting up 2FA. Start the process over again.
Logging in with a 2FA device
Once 2FA is setup, when trying to login to DG AutoCheck with your username and password, you will be asked to verify yourself by entering the code provided by the 2FA authenticator app.
Troubleshooting 2FA login
Confirmation code isn't accepted
If your confirmation code is not accepted, your device may become out of sync with the server. To resolve this, contact your subscription's Super User/Administrator and ask them to reset your 2FA. Once done, you will be able to login and set up your 2FA.
Locked account
After six (6) consecutive failed 2FA confirmation code attempts, your account will be locked. Your account will be automatically unlocked after 15 minutes. You can also unlock your account by using the "Forgotten your password?" link on the DG AutoCheck login page. However, note that 2FA cannot be reset by this process. To resolve this, contact your subscription's Super User/Administrator and ask them to reset your 2FA. Once done, you will be able to login and set up your 2FA.
Removing a 2FA device
To remove an existing 2FA device, complete the following steps:
- Log in to DG AutoCheck and complete 2FA verification using the existing 2FA device
- Go to your profile page
- Scroll to the Two-Factor Auth section
- Click the "Remove 2FA" button
- On the next page confirm that you wish to remove 2FA
Note: If your subscription enforces 2FA, you will be asked to setup a new device when you next login to DG AutoCheck.
Changing your 2FA device
Replace existing device
If you still have access to the existing 2FA device, you can remove that device and setup a new one.
Lost device
In the event that you have lost your 2FA device, please contact your subscription's Super User/Administrator and ask them to reset your 2FA. Once done, you will be able to login and setup your new device.
