The Air Waybill (AWB) number validation feature in DG AutoCheck helps to improve your data quality.

When a DGD is uploaded to DG AutoCheck, the AWB number is captured from the scanned image. It must be verified and eventually adjusted by the user during the Verification step.

As per IATA standard, an AWB number is made of 11-digits. The 11th is a check digit (unweighted Modulus 7). The expected AWB number format is “000-00000000”.

DG AutoCheck now automatically validates the AWB number against the IATA standard.

You can specify one of the following actions to be taken when an invalid AWB number is detected by system:

  1. None
  2. Display warning message only
  3. Enforce mandatory validation

When mandatory validation is enforced, users cannot proceed to the Documentation check until the AWB number is valid and matches the expected format.
