FAQ General
Getting started

Q2: Do we need a special configuration to run DG AutoCheck on our computer?
A2: No. You just need to be able to reach the following URL using a recent web browser: https://dgautocheck.iata.org.
Technical details can be found here: https://www.iata.org/en/publications/dgr/dg-autocheck-technical-requirements

A3: Yes, both laptop and desktop computers are suitable.
Q4: Do you have a DG AutoCheck app that we can use on our portable devices?
A4: Yes, it can be downloaded from the Apple and Google stores. It runs on tablets, not on smartphones.
- Google Play Store (Android)

Q5: Do we need a special scanner to scan the shipper’s declarations?
A5: No, you just need a regular scanner which can produce PDF of at least 300dpi resolution. E-mail functionality will be a plus.
Q6: Can DG AutoCheck read handwritten DGD?
A6: No, handwriting is very difficult to be read by a computer. Moreover, handwritten text on shippers’ declarations is often hard to decipher. DGD must be free from marks and the original copy should be used when scanned.

A7: There is not limit. You can use the solution in as many stations as you need to.

Q16: How is the training for users provided?
A16: An online training is provided by IATA. The trainees will receive Microsoft Skype / Teams links from IATA for the online training session. The session duration is usually 3.5 hours. Participants are first trained on the key features and functionalities, and they will learn how to perform acceptance checks using DG AutoCheck. This is followed by a hands-on session where participants will do guided exercises to reinforce the key learnings. For effective learning, the recommended group size is 5-7 participants maximum
Q17: Do all the users need to attend the IATA training session?
A17: The “train the trainer” approach is used, where a set of nominated trainees are first trained by IATA, and they in turn will train their colleagues internally. There are several online resources available for supporting the subsequent internal trainings.
Q18: What support material is available?
A18: There is an extensive Online Help accessible from within the platform and a set of self-learning videos is available.
Q19: How long does it take to get initial set-up done (ready to use DG AutoCheck) after the sign-off of the agreement?
A19: The product is web based, the only IT requirement on your side is to make sure that the DG AutoCheck URL is accessible, it takes no more than a few minutes. From the IATA side, there is the subscription set up in the DG AutoCheck admin which is done very quickly.
