Note: e-DGDs do not require verification step.

When a scanned paper DGD is uploaded to the DGD library, it is processed by a cloud service called OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which converts the scanned image into computer data. The OCR engine is very powerful and usually well captures the data.

However, if the quality of the scan image is poor and/or non-compliant DGD format is used, the data could be misread by the OCR or some data could be unread (for example, handwritten text) and corrections will be required.

So after uploading the DGD to the DGD library, the first step is to verify the DGD data. During verification, the OCR captured DGD data is compared with the scanned DGD image, to ensure that they are matching. The verification step is the mandatory when using paper DGD.

The Verification tab is used for verification of the OCR captured data.
